Carnival Chronicler

Since childhood and especially since working as a pitchman on the midway of the Canadian National Exhibition in 1969, I have been a carnival buff. For Secrets of the Sideshows (2005) I spent some six years interviewing showpeople, collecting carnival photos and memorabilia, and even learning to perform such sideshow feats as fire eating.
