Coffeehouse Co-Proprietor

Canadian poet Elizabeth Woods and other friends and I rented some second-story space in downtown Toronto and created a short-lived coffeehouse called The Soft Cell. There we and other participants read poetry, sang folksongs, and talked art and politics. The Soft Cell is mentioned in Shadow Maker: The Life of Gwendolyn MacEwen (by Rosemary Sullivan, 1995, p.185) as a place where the poet and novelist was among the readers.
