Crime Scene Illustrator

On a few occasions, I have made a crime-scene drawing in a real case under police investigation. At a forensic dig" where human remains were unearthed in 1981, I prepared the gridded-site drawing for forensic anthropologist Dr. David Wolf (see Forensic Anthropology Assistant). I used sketching and photography to reconstruct another scene involving a questioned death (see Homicide Investigator), and I made an interpretive sketch for a case I assisted with that appeared in an official police report (Lt. Drexel Neal, Report on the Death of Officer Roy Mardis, Lexington, Ky.: Division of Police, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, June 18, 1986, Diagram II). I wrote about such matters in my Crime Science (1999). See also Crime Scene Reconstructionist.
