Cupping Patient

While undergoing treatment as an Acupuncture Patient at a clinic in Beijing, China, in 2010 (see Visiting Scholar), I also had traditional cupping treatments. These involve momentarily placing a torch into a glass cup to create a vacuum, then quickly placing the cup on the patient's body. The resulting suction, a form of acupressure, supposedly stimulates the flow of qi to improve certain conditions.
