ROTC Cadet
For all of my first year (1962-63) at the University of Kentucky, as was then required there for freshman males, I was a member of the Reserve Officers Training Corps,
which included wearing an army uniform to ROTC classes, participating in marching drills and standing for inspection, firing on a rifle range, etc.
Pictured here is a recent photo of Buell Armory where we learned to disassemble, clean, and reassemble our carbines. This ended my army career (see
Anti-War Activist).
