Ganzfeld Psi Subject

In my role of skeptical Parapsychologist, I attended a Psi laboratory in Budapest in 2010 where I participated in a ganzfeld experiment. This involves using sensory deprivation to supposedly stimulate the subject's psychic receptivity, and a "sender" attempts to convey a target picture, telepathically, to the "receiver," the subject.

In my single event I actually selected the picture that had been sent, but this was one in only four choices so it was not significant. However, I amused both the parapsychologists, and the Hungarian skeptics who accompanied me, by my pretense that I had discovered I had psychic powers. (See my "Psychic Connections: Investigating in Hungary," Skeptical Inquirer November/December 2011, pp. 23-25.)
