Ground Observer Corpsman

In the late 1950s, in association with my membership as a Boy Scout, I was briefly a member of the Ground Observer Corps. A civilian volunteer group, the GOC strove to identify overflying aircraft as part of U.S. civil defense. It ended in early 1959, after a major aircraft-warning system began to be installed. I may have had a pin like the one shown (from Wikipedia).
