Witness
As shown by this subpoena of October 14, 1983, I was a witness (and plaintiff) in an assault case. As I was driving to my apartment in Lexington, Kentucky, one night, I saw a man attacking a woman (as it turned out, his girlfriend), and I intervened. She had suffered a cracked rib and broken tooth, as I recall, and I received a bite on my neck in the course of subduing the attacker. She did not show up to testify, but I got a restraining order against him.
